Goal setting is a very powerful way that can help you achieve anything in life much faster then if you didn’t have any goals set. However, there are some common goal setting mistakes that you want to avoid so that you can reach your goals as fast as you can.
One of the most common goal setting mistakes is to set to many goals at one time. Have you ever tried to carry too much in your arms at one time and before long you couldn’t manage it? You might have been able to balance everything in your arms for a little while but then, all of a sudden, everything in your arms come crashing down to the ground.
Goal setting can seem a lot like that if you set too many goals at one time. The best way to achieve your goals in life is to focus on just a few at a time. This way you are not spreading yourself so thin that you can put your full effort into anything. The more focused you are in your goal setting that more you will find that you achieve.
The best way to stay focused in goal setting is to pick 2 goals. One goal should be a long term goal that will take anywhere between 6 months and 5 years to reach. Your second goal should be a short term goal that somehow supports your long term goal. As you complete your short term goal, move on to another short term goal that supports your long term goal. By doing this you will be working on your long term goal while seeing the benefits of achieving your short term goals.
