Four-Ways-to-Keep-Your-Cherished-Dreams-Alive

We are born to make manifest the glory of God within us and what that means is that what we desire (from God) is meant to be our guidepost to becoming all that our souls intended for us to be. This requires us to take our desires seriously and to not allow the ebbs and flows of life to diminish their value or importance. Sometimes we are asked to stand up for what we want; to show the universe that we are serious about manifesting our greatness and so it is essential to never give up, regardless of the obstacles you face on your journey.

The following are some ways to help you go the distance even when it seems impossible to do so:

1. The List of “Why I Can”: As said very eloquently by Norman Vincent Peale, “You can if you think you can.” So make a list of at least 100 reasons why can achieve your dreams, goals and desires. Keep this list near you so that you can refer to it often. Truthfully the only one ever stopping us is us, because we come with so many reasons for why we can’t. Now it’s time to change that and reclaim your passion.

2. Appeal to a higher motive: Sometimes what blocks us is our motives for why we think we want something. Challenge your conscious motives and ask what deeper more meaningful motives do you have for wanting what you desire. When we can identify with these higher reasons we tend lose the guilt associated with wanting what we want.

3. Allow yourself to receive: As much as we may want to manifest something we may lack the skills to receive and for those of you who suffer from this, as I did, you know that it truly takes skills to get good at it. One skill that helped me was to constantly affirm that I deserved to receive and I also kept my focus on the women before me who passionately succeeded in their dreams. I watched their behaviours and attitudes and in the process I realized that they really “got it” that reaching their goals was their divine birthright. No questions asked. And so it is with you. Go for it!

4. Create a song: Or a poem, if you really don’t like to sing. But singing works the best because you can do it anywhere, in the shower, in the car, walking the pets - wherever it feels good to do so. And it is easier to remember the lyrics of a song sometimes more than the words of a poem. Singing also opens you up to greater self-expression and creativity so you now have many reasons to do this. Not to mention that it’s just plain fun.

These exercises are very effective at keeping your passion and inspiration alive and I hope that you are as successful with them as I know you can be. Believe in your dreams and believe in yourself, I do. Wishing you a beautiful & magical journey!
