With the elections drawing near it is becoming increasingly obvious how the use of negative language in our culture has accelerated. The hard facts and experience of the potential Commander-in-Chief has become a secondary source of influence over the voter. It seems the primary factor to sway our votes in the daily polls has come down to the ability of their respective press secretaries, campaign managers, and other spin doctors’ efforts to cover-up their politically incorrect faux pas or how they choose to respond to their opponent in what I like to call the ‘oops, was my mike on?’ quote.

Underneath all this political nonsense lies a burning question: Why are we so interested in the news when it covers the negative campaigns and the candidates and their supporters bad mouthing each other? Of course the obvious answer is that we are inundated with this so called news. But if we look beneath that, the real answer lies in that WE THE PEOPLE are driving this trend. Newspapers and TV make big advertising dollars when we watch the latest tragedy or public feud unfold. If we weren’t watching or reading it, they wouldn’t be talking about it. There are several articles I have read recently that explore the unending inquiry. Yank Elliot in his article Please Login or Register to see the link. from politics states that the answers might lie in some serious reform of the political system. But perhaps the solution lies in simply not looking at the question anymore.

I wonder what the world would be like if we all made a simple decision to start talking about the things we want and enjoy more than the things we don’t want and dislike in our daily lives. A choice to think thoughts that support us in feeling good about each other and the world we live in would transform the very nature of the world we see. Master teachers of this very idea like Please Login or Register to see the link. say,” When we change the way we look at things, the things we look at change.” I fully subscribe to this thinking and invite you to begin TODAY to become aware of what you are saying to yourself and your friends, family and co-workers. What are you talking about? Why are you saying that? Inquire and decide to be the source of change we could all benefit from: a world filled with joyful men and women that are unafraid to dream and have hope.

As for the future of our great country, we must believe there is hope for better days and that our leaders will hear this message LOUD & CLEAR. I maintain that leadership that will acknowledge the problems, but only focus on solutions will take us boldly into the future with the confidence of the people in their heart.

How often do you find yourself asking advice from a person that has never achieved the things you want? Have you found yourself wondering if the person you are asking for advice is truly objective? For example, asking your mother if you should quit your job to start your own business. This might bring a myriad of new reasons NOT to do this new (if not somewhat risky) endeavor. Not because she doesn’t want you to be successful and independent, but because she has her own fears about what being an entrepreneur really means. A life coach will not make your decisions for you. What they will do is make you aware of the multitude of options in front of you, motivate you to make the desired changes in your life and support you in your journey from where you are now to where you want to be. A coach’s job is to point out your blind spots, to have you see what you aren’t currently able to see.

Life coaching is not counseling or psychotherapy. The latter two are about finding emotional resolution to problems, present or past. Life coaching is about changing your behavior; there is a small amount of reflection of past circumstances and lots of focus on the future. It is about designing and taking action on your future and keeping momentum when the usual fears rear their ugly heads. Your coach will not spend much time discussing with you how you feel, although they will challenge the negative beliefs that are holding you back, in order that you may discard them and embrace your unlimited potential.
Life coaching generally takes the form of regular, one-to-one sessions of an hour or so, either face to face or over the telephone. The coach will help you to focus your goals and to devise small steps towards meeting them. The coach will also hold you accountable for your progress.

Have you always wanted to start your own business? Maybe you want to travel extensively or even try skydiving? Do you want to get fit, learn new skills, or expand your social circle? If so, what is preventing you from doing it? A life coach can help erode your fears, assist you in deciding what you truly desire, and build your confidence to help you to live the life you’ve always dreamed of.

Life coaching is not the answer for everybody. If you have experienced trauma or had a very unhappy or frightening childhood, life coaching will probably not be of use to you until you have worked through your issues with a psychotherapist. Ask yourself how much is it costing you NOT to have your goals and dreams realized? Ultimately, the expense of a coach is far less than the cost of the years you may waste doing the same ineffective things over and again. If you have wanted something, and tried all that you know or can think of to achieve it with no real lasting success, perhaps you should consider coaching. If your problems are more in the realms of not being able to get yourself organized, being too busy to think about what you really want out of life or always giving “should” priority over “want to”, life coaching can be of limitless value to you.

You can find a life coach to give your life a general shake-up or to specialize in a specific area. You can have coaching to help with your work, coaching to help you land the job you’ve always wanted, coaching of through a big change such as divorce, coaching to inspire and motivate you to make the most of your life - any, all or a mixture of these.

It’s not difficult to find yourself a life coach by searching the internet. It doesn’t matter if there isn’t one in your area, because you can always have your coaching on the telephone. Ask yourself how much is it costing you NOT to have your goals and dreams realized? Ultimately, the expense of a coach is far less than the cost of the years you may waste doing the same ineffective things over and again. If you have really wanted something, and tried all that you know or can think of to achieve it with no real lasting success, perhaps you should consider coaching. Most coaches will offer a free introductory meeting during which you can decide whether life coaching is for you and whether you like this coach’s style. So you’ve got nothing to lose - what are you waiting for?

We are born to make manifest the glory of God within us and what that means is that what we desire (from God) is meant to be our guidepost to becoming all that our souls intended for us to be. This requires us to take our desires seriously and to not allow the ebbs and flows of life to diminish their value or importance. Sometimes we are asked to stand up for what we want; to show the universe that we are serious about manifesting our greatness and so it is essential to never give up, regardless of the obstacles you face on your journey.

The following are some ways to help you go the distance even when it seems impossible to do so:

1. The List of “Why I Can”: As said very eloquently by Norman Vincent Peale, “You can if you think you can.” So make a list of at least 100 reasons why can achieve your dreams, goals and desires. Keep this list near you so that you can refer to it often. Truthfully the only one ever stopping us is us, because we come with so many reasons for why we can’t. Now it’s time to change that and reclaim your passion.

2. Appeal to a higher motive: Sometimes what blocks us is our motives for why we think we want something. Challenge your conscious motives and ask what deeper more meaningful motives do you have for wanting what you desire. When we can identify with these higher reasons we tend lose the guilt associated with wanting what we want.

3. Allow yourself to receive: As much as we may want to manifest something we may lack the skills to receive and for those of you who suffer from this, as I did, you know that it truly takes skills to get good at it. One skill that helped me was to constantly affirm that I deserved to receive and I also kept my focus on the women before me who passionately succeeded in their dreams. I watched their behaviours and attitudes and in the process I realized that they really “got it” that reaching their goals was their divine birthright. No questions asked. And so it is with you. Go for it!

4. Create a song: Or a poem, if you really don’t like to sing. But singing works the best because you can do it anywhere, in the shower, in the car, walking the pets - wherever it feels good to do so. And it is easier to remember the lyrics of a song sometimes more than the words of a poem. Singing also opens you up to greater self-expression and creativity so you now have many reasons to do this. Not to mention that it’s just plain fun.

These exercises are very effective at keeping your passion and inspiration alive and I hope that you are as successful with them as I know you can be. Believe in your dreams and believe in yourself, I do. Wishing you a beautiful & magical journey!

Have you ever asked yourself why you want to succeed online?

If not, … allow me to ask you …

So, … why do you want to succeed online?

Do you have e reason for it? Do you clearly know what the reason is?

Do you think other people are succeeding online? Are they more successful than you are? Are you more successful than them? Why?

Are you currently succeeding online? Do you feel successful? How do YOU define success in general?

These questions are very important questions in your journey to online success. The nature of your answer to these questions would significantly impact your mission.

We all have a pre-programmed definition of success. We all know what will make us successful in other people’s eyes and what will personally make us feel successful. We have needs, wishes, wants and cravings for the results we desire.

But only you know what’s important for you and what would drive you to achieve your vision of success, whether online or offline. You’re the only one who can unlock the door to your hidden treasure of desires. Desires so powerful that would literally force you out of your comfort zone to find the success you seek.

What are you doing it for? What’s in it for you?

Few years back, I joined a network marketing company that was doing business the *old way* of calling people on the phone, setting a meeting and presenting the prospects with a business opportunity. That was one of my best experiences ever.

I had an opportunity to interact with hundreds of different people from different walks of life. Different educational background, different culture, different life circumstances, different age, different business background ….

The most amazing thing was that they all had a different vision of success. They all had a different understanding of what success was and what it meant to them.

While going through the course of offering the business opportunity, some of the people were telling me that they were doing just fine with their life as it was. Even though I was offering them a business opportunity that would’ve given them results far beyond their wildest dreams, they were declining the offer with a comment that they were already successful in what they were doing and they were not looking for more in their life.

Other people would tell me that they were already working on achieving the results that they were striving for. My business opportunity did not offer the types of results that they wanted to accomplish. And others would simply take the opportunity since they had no other vehicle to take them to their desired results.

In general, I did not meet two people with same aspirations. Everyone wanted to be successful in his or her own unique way — successful in regards to other people and successful in regards to themselves.

So, the question I would like to ask you is: “Why do you want to achieve online success and what are you doing it for?”

Is there something you desire to have as a result of you becoming successful online? It’s very important to define your desired outcome - crisp and clear - as a result of you becoming a successful online entrepreneur. That would become your map. That would give you a direction to follow.

What do you want to have and who do you want to become as a result of you becoming successful with your online venture?

By having that fact defined, your success journey would then consist of finding the right sources to get you there as opposed to jumping onto every train that passes by with a hope that one of them would take you to your success.

You could use your list of defined results that you want to accomplish as an evaluation method when looking at different business opportunities or products. Ask yourself, could the business opportunity or even a product under your consideration, deliver most or all of your desired results?

In today’s environment of ever changing technology and evolving life complexity, we don’t have much time in our hands. Do we?

The “time” is slowly but surely becoming one of the most valuable commodities. The fact of knowing what you want to accomplish with your online venture would help you grasp the success you seek in the shortest time possible and help you understand the purpose of your mission.

I go in great detail on this subject in my book “Define Your Success.”

When looking for a job or making your own business it is better not to set your hopes too high. The first steps are always the most difficult and most people become successful after several failed attempts. You have to accept failure as being a part in the learning process, but also you have to have a positive attitude about the outcome of your progress. Don’t expect to fail or you will never succeed.

Here are some key facts which will help you set your goals realistically:

Set realistic goals

Your goals can be artificially raised by the expectations of your parents / relatives, by the society or by comparison to other people. Never compare yourself to the others: what you can do is different from what they can do. It is better to set your goals according to your perception and put your own opinion on the first place. In the end you know best what is good for you.

Also, unrealistic goals might be the result of insufficient information or even misinformation. Be sure to document yourself on the project you are going to attempt. Be sure to prepare yourself for what will follow and you will not be taken by surprise by some factors you haven’t thought about.

Setting goals too low

When you set your goals too low you are afraid of failure. This is not the right attitude; you should look forward with optimism. Your negative attitude might prevent you from taking the necessary risks or trusting yourself with a more difficult task. Also, if you set your goals too low, your progress will be slower as you have to traverse more steps. Think of what you can do instead of what you cannot do.

Setting goals too high

When you set your goals too high you have the feeling that you’ll never accomplish them. This can be the premise of your failure. You have to set realistic goals, see what you can do and in what amount of time are you able to do it. Also setting goals too high can make your eventual failure too painful, because you perceive it more acutely.

In setting the realistic goals you should ask yourself the questions:

1. What do I have to know in order to do this?
2. What skills do I have helping me in this project?
3. What do I need to learn to be able to do this?
4. Can I do it myself or do I need others to help me?
5. What resources do I need to be able to accomplish what I want? Are they enough?
6. What risks am I subjecting myself to by doing this? Are the risks too high? Does it worth the risks?
7. What could prevent me from achieving my goals?

You have to remember that a positive attitude is the key to success. Failure is a part of the learning process, and is therefore inevitable; you have to learn from it in order not to repeat the mistakes.

Everyone is subjected to anger and aggression in different scenarios. This is a simple fact of life. The key is learning how to control the anger rather than letting it get out of control and ultimately control you. Anger management skills are required by all of us nowadays and we have to accept that there are problems lying underneath the anger, which we often ignore. These are the real issues, which should be addressed in order to manage our anger.

The problems, which we face throughout our lives, accumulate in our minds as frustrations and can make a person very edgy. When we are in this frame of mind we can abruptly turn on anyone, without a reason. So the major issue is that there are frustrations that make a person go ballistic and such frustrations have to be be managed in a appropriate manner. Anger management techniques are essential in preventing this type of outburst by addressing the underlying issues.

Anger is directly linked to positive or negative attitudes. Most people are prone to the latter, which is totally destructive.Positive anger is a bit more difficult, but not impossible to achieve, because with positive anger, you can find solutions to your problems in a cool and level-headed manner. This is the best form of anger management.

You can learn a lot of anger management techniques by undergoing anger management counselling which will assist in turning your negative anger into positive anger. We should not lose our cool during any situation and should use all the anger management techniques, methods and tools we have at our disposal to help solve our problems.

For example,if you have a fight with your best friend, you get a feeling deep inside that something has gone wrong and you are in danger of losing your best friend. This can be a source of frustration for you and what you must do is talk to your friend about the problem you are both experiencing and resolve it. Remember, good friends are hard to find.

Another real life example is when you find out that someone is spreading negative rumors about you, like you drink, or you use drugs, or you are stealing money from home. Obviously anyone will get angry in such a situation, but you cannot go to that person spreading the rumors and just hit or assault them which quite often anger outbursts can prompt you to do.

The best way to solve this type of problem is to go to the person or call them and ask in an assertive manner what his/her problem is and why he/she is spreading such bad and untrue rumors about you. He/she will probably deny doing these things but irrespective of any denials you need to tell them in a more assertive manner that you are aware that this has been going on for a while and you will not tolerate it anymore and he/she should stop immediately.

Above all it is important to remain calm throughout the exchange and not let your anger show. This is of paramount importance .Outbursts of anger in this type of situation are only likely to make matters worse, rather than lead to a reasonable conclusion. They will come up with the truth eventually and usually apologize.

Assertiveness is a positive form of anger management that needs to be practiced.

One of the best ways, recommended by many anger management teachers, to solve problems of any kind is never ever do anything out of anger as this is very likely to cause more harm. Always approach problems in a calm and controlled manner, or walk away until you have managed to calm down.

The best anger management tip is to stop and think before acting out your aggression.

Self motivation is so crucial for success. You can have all the goals and imagination you want, but without the drive or ambition to take action to achieve those goals you will end up like a lot of people; sitting on the couch filling the void by eating and drinking.

Self Motivation Tip Number One: Involve Others

This self motivation tip deals with pride and making yourself accountable. If you don’t have enough motivation to get yourself going everyday tell your co-workers, friends, and family about the tasks that you are setting out to do. Tell them your time frame for achieving those goals. This will make you accountable. Sometimes the sheer will of not failing in front of others is the push you need.

Motivation Tip Number Two: Strive on Time Limits

Procrastination is a huge motivation killer. Put time limits on the project you are doing. Always be very specific with your time limits.

The feeling that there is a time crunch will motivate you to get your project done. Use this self motivation tip on anything you need to get done, whether it is a small or large project. Be careful though and make your time frame realistic, it is not healthy to create unnecessary stress from a goal you set for yourself.

For example, if you need to clean the house, give yourself a reason why it has to be done at a certain time, like: “I have to clean the house before the kids get home from school because it is good for them to have a clean home.” Then start as soon as possible, don’t wait until 30 minutes before they get home to start, that will create stress and anxiety.

Self Motivating Tip Number Three: Treat Yourself

Just like Pavlov’s dog, you need to be rewarded when you finish a goal so that you get satisfaction from it and so you have something to look forward to as a reward for finishing. This self motivation tip is pretty easy.

Just don’t wallow in your own pride forever. Always set new goals when one is accomplished. Successful people are always looking for new ways to improve themselves and their lives.

Motivating Tip Number Four: Create a Positive Mindset

Of all the tips this is probably the most important. It’s hard to stay motivated when you are giving yourself a hard time. Try to stay positive, even when you really don’t want to finish the task or things aren’t working out as planned.

For example, instead of thinking of all the reasons why you don’t want to exercise think of how great you will feel and how good you will continue to look if you stick to your workout routine. Associate positive feelings with exercising and negative ones to not exercising.

Tip Number Five: Give Yourself a Break And Stay Healthy

You may have problems implementing the other four self motivation tips if you are just trying to hoist too many goals and objectives upon yourself. Your lack of motivation may be due to burnout. If this is the case, then just take a break. You probably deserve it.

Learn to relax and be able to take your mind off of your goal for a while to refresh your mind and body. Work on staying healthy and fit. You will have a hard time thinking of and achieving noteworthy goals if your mind and body aren’t healthy. I am not saying you have to push around weights all day, but do the proper amount of exercise that is right for you to feel healthy, fit, and full of vitality.

Also follow a healthy diet to ensure your body is getting the nutrition it needs. You will be surprised at how much your diet and exercise play a role in your overall motivation.

Goal setting like many other valuable skills in life is usually not taught in school. This leaves parents the responsibility to pass on the great power of effective goal setting to their children. Of course one of the best way to teach goal setting to our children is to be modeling the process ourselves.

Children actually love to set goals. One time my family decided to do a little goal setting in order to make the house run more efficiently. We sat down and created some goals and the kids became contagiously excited. The key for kids, is that you need to make it into a game.

What we did to make the goal setting process fun for them was add a few important elements. Here are a few tips for goal setting with kids.

1. Set measurable goals.

This is important for anyone setting goals, and it is a good thing to teach your children this lesson early. We had simple goals relating each week to completing chores around the house.

2. Create a fun way to measure.

Children need to visually see their progress. What we did was print out a large photo of a mountain and stuck it on our fridge. Our goal was to reach the top. Then we cut out little flag magnets so that as we completed our goals we moved higher and higher up the mountain. This made goal setting fun for the kids. You should have seen their excitement every evening, as we would update our mountain. We had kids running off to clean rooms, make beds, and sweep floors so they could move the flag higher up the mountain.

This tiny game we developed on our fridge eventually became the inspiration for building the online goal setting game The Summit.

3. Have a reward.

Rewards are important for goal setting. I cannot remember what the reward was but our kids were excited about it. We told them that if we reached the top we would get the reward as a family.

Day by day we moved up the mountain and our kids had a blast at the same time. It made our house cleaner, our children more motivated and it taught them some important principles of the goal setting process. You can make your own family goal game, just do what we did and cut out a picture of a mountain and tape it to your fridge, and you kids will have a blast. Goal setting can be a lot of fun.
